Capsulla vs Island

Replace the browser, or leave it alone.

Island built a Chromium browser with the controls inside it: copy, paste, screenshot, print, session recording, all governed centrally. For a bank onboarding ten thousand contractors on unmanaged machines, that is a strong answer. For a company whose people already work in managed Chrome, it is a migration you do not have to do.

The part nobody costs properly

A browser nobody has to adopt

Every browser migration is a change-management project: extensions that break, bookmarks that move, people who keep opening the old one. Capsulla ships as policy to the Chrome already on the machine — no second browser, nothing to retrain, and no way for somebody to opt out by launching the other icon.

The honest limit

If the machines are not yours, this is not your tool

A dedicated browser earns its keep on devices you do not control — contractors, BYOD, a team you onboarded last week. Capsulla needs a managed Chrome, so if that is your problem, Island is answering it and we are not.

Worth knowing

  • Island's pricing is enterprise-scale and not published per seat; the public figures that exist come from marketplace listings and public-sector tenders.
  • Capsulla governs what moves in and out of the browser. Printing, screenshots and session recording are a different surface, and a dedicated browser is the tool that covers them.
  • Figures for other products come from their own published pages, public marketplace listings or buyer-reported medians. They are approximate and they change — if something here is out of date, tell us and we will fix it.
