Capsulla vs LayerX

A platform to run, or a tool to switch on.

LayerX is a serious browser security product: an extension across Chrome, Edge, Safari and Firefox, with shadow SaaS discovery, risky extension control, credential protection and GenAI DLP in one console. It is built for organizations that have somebody whose job is browser security. Capsulla assumes nobody's job is that.

Deliberate narrowness

One question, answered completely

Capsulla answers one question — what is leaving the browser, and what should happen to it — and answers it in four channels at once. A platform that also does shadow SaaS discovery, extension risk and credential protection is more product than a twenty-person company can absorb, and the part they needed is the part that never gets configured.

Time to first answer

A week, not a quarter

You can have Capsulla in front of every managed browser the same afternoon, and a week later the console tells you what your team actually moves. No scoping call, no proof of concept, no tuning sprint before the first useful fact.

Worth knowing

  • LayerX publishes no pricing and sells through a demo. We have not been through their sales process, so nothing here describes their commercial terms.
  • Where LayerX inspects content is not stated in their public material. It is the first question to ask any vendor in this category, including us.
  • Figures for other products come from their own published pages, public marketplace listings or buyer-reported medians. They are approximate and they change — if something here is out of date, tell us and we will fix it.
