Capsulla vs Polymer

Guarding the apps you approved, or the tab that is open now.

Polymer connects to Slack, Drive, GitHub and the rest through their APIs: it finds sensitive data sitting in those apps, redacts it, and enforces who can see what. That is a real problem and a good answer to it. It is also a different problem from the one where somebody pastes a customer list into a site you have never heard of.

Where the risk actually is

The tool you have not heard of is the one to worry about

Connector-based DLP protects what you connected. The leak that keeps admins up is the assistant somebody found on Tuesday, the converter site in the third search result, the free spreadsheet cleaner. None of those will ever have a connector, and all of them open in the browser.

Not either-or

These two do not overlap much

If Polymer is already cleaning up what sits inside Drive and Slack, Capsulla is not a replacement for it — it covers the hop between a person's screen and everywhere else, which no connector can see.

Worth knowing

  • Capsulla has no view of data at rest. It only ever sees something as it moves through a browser.
  • Figures for other products come from their own published pages, public marketplace listings or buyer-reported medians. They are approximate and they change — if something here is out of date, tell us and we will fix it.

Other comparisons
